A Software Engineer is needed to evaluate, analyze, and develop integrated systems that include hardware, software, and supporting infrastructure to enhance operational tasks. The role involves working across the full engineering lifecycle, including system design, development, testing, and integration. Responsibilities include developing microelectronics and embedded systems, writing firmware for microcontrollers, and supporting rapid development cycles that balance technical precision with demanding schedules.

Security Clearance Requirement: An active Secret clearance is required with eligibility to obtain Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI). Applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Requirements Hardware / Embedded Experience
Experience with the embedded hardware product lifecycle, including design, testing, and integration Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout software (e.g., Altium) Experience writing embedded firmware for microprocessors Desired Technical Skills
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
Responsibilities Design and Analysis
Translate high-level requirements into integrated engineering designs Conduct trade-off analyses (risk, cost, and benefit) for technical decisions such as microprocessor selection Design and integrate custom electrical circuits and mechanical packaging Software and Firmware Development
Develop C/C++ bare-metal firmware using test-driven development practices Manage code using GitLab for configuration management Desired: Develop full-stack applications using technologies such as SQL, C++ services, and React/Next.js Testing and Documentation
Conduct developmental testing and evaluation of engineering solutions Follow established configuration management and documentation standards
Preferred Skills and Experience Strong independent work ethic and ability to manage tasks effectively Effective written and verbal communication across cross-functional teams Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities Adaptability to changing workloads and priorities Ability to work primarily in an office or laboratory environment with minimal travel (less than 10%) Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds periodically
Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
